Since it’s getting cold, Thanksgiving is over, and Christmas lights are going up all over the neighborhood, I thought it was perfect timing to blog these shots. The first is of my darling Papa himself (who was usually behind the camera) on one of our old snowmobiles up at the lake. There’s also an ice fishing…

Oh Jessica, I love this!! I’m so thankful that your grandfather preserved so many great memories, and you are in turn preserving them for the next generation!
-
Yea for Mr. Kelly! 🙂
Your grandfather was quite the photographer Jessica. So glad you are following in his footsteps, as well as sharing his treasures. I so enjoy seeing your nuggets of the past. -
I am dying over the can of Old Milwaukee. Priceless!
Tonight I was going through and cleaning out my hard drive a little bit…getting rid of digital negatives that I really don’t need that just aren’t worth editing any further. Of course, I got super distracted when I came across some more of my grandfather’s 35mm slides that I recently scanned. I remember both of these shots…

You know I love these!! Don’t you hope our grandchildren find our stuff some day?

So sweet Jess! Love these.
When you’re done with your hard drive can you come clean up mine? It is such a mess and LR is running sooo slow these days, totally overburdened.-
Thanks Julia! Maybe I should start a hard drive clean-up service, good idea. I hear you, LR is running painfully slow over here as well!!

You are so tender. Thanks for giving me my Bootsie again. And you’re right-if Papa could have loved a dog-and just maybevhe did-it would have been Boots. Love
I posted previously about finding and making digital negatives of some of my grandfather’s old 35mm slides. Such a treasure. He was an amazing photographer. While he traveled the world taking amazing pictures of all sorts of sights and people, his favorite thing to shoot was family time at our beloved Magician Lake. Here’s an awesome fisheye…

This is so so cool!! Love that grin. ;D
I recently found a stash of my grandfather’s 35mm film slides. Papa was a great photographer and always had his camera with him, whether traveling the world, at a family party, or at the lake. I recently sent some of his slides in to get digital scans. I was kind of shocked to see this…

Wow, this gives me goosebumps! Both shots are so beautiful!
Kim - You know how I love this series. I drew my breath in sharply at these, just to see the beauty he captured, and how his art lives beyond his time on this earth. Breathtaking.
