It’s blog circle time again! Earlier this month, we had a fantastic trip to Florida. Much needed sunshine after months of cold and snow. Charlie figured out how to swim underwater all on his own, and spend the majority of each day in the pool. He was so excited about it, and I was able…

[…] 3. Olympus TG-3 Waterproof 16 MP Digital Camera. I really wanted something I could use underwater but didn’t want to spend the almost $2K I’d need to on an underwater housing for my dslr. This camera is so much fun! It shoots still and video underwater or above, and I chose it specifically because you can adjust settings manually. It has a pretty wide aperture for a point and shoot: going down to f/2. That wide aperture is important for getting enough light in while shooting underwater. It’s the perfect beach camera because sand and water can get all over it and it’s no problem. And my kids can drop it (which they have) and it’s all good. All of my underwater shots, and some of my beach shots are taken with this camera. You can see some of these shots here and here. […]

A little something different for me this month – macro photography. And it’s not even a shot of a kid OR a dog! Sometimes it’s really fun (and challenging) to jump outside of your genre for a little bit. I loved playing around and shooting some macros of flowers at the Chicago Botanic Gardens last…

Oooh, love seeing these from you! The colors are a perfect antidote to winter, too.
We’re baaaaaaack! It’s a new year, and I am so happy to be continuing the “one” blog circle with some of my favorite people. A circle of friends posting one shot each month. Maybe it’s one that was overlooked, maybe it’s one we loved from the second we saw it on our viewfinder, maybe it almost went into…
