Gingerbread house bandit.  I guess I can’t really blame him…

We caught him right after he ate the majority of the chimney, and right before demolition of the roof began.

amazing skies|pictures my grandfather took

I haven’t posted any of Papa’s images in a while – I am way behind on blogging over here.  I started posting this series of pictures my grandfather took (“Papa” to me and all that knew and loved him), and it has been a while since I have added any here.  I have been updating my new computer, moving files, switching hard drives, and all sorts of other associated nonsense which is the part of photography that gives me a major headache!  But it must be done.

I came across these and thought they deserved to be seen again, both gorgeous images of the sky up at the lake in Michigan, with colors and textures that only nature could create.  That sky was definitely one of Papa’s favorite subjects, I can’t even count how many times I saw him out there with his tripod:

  • Kim - You know how I love this series. I drew my breath in sharply at these, just to see the beauty he captured, and how his art lives beyond his time on this earth. Breathtaking.ReplyCancel

domo arigato|mr. roboto

When we were in Detroit at Grandma & Grandpa’s house for Christmas, we finally got tons of snow! Didn’t make for the best drive but it sure was fun when we got there.  I was totally ill-prepared and we had to make a run out to Target for some boots and gloves.  We went to 3 stores and they were all out of snow pants because everyone snatched them up for the blizzard.  So, we had to make do with some oversized Spiderman boots and whatever else we could find!

Nate picked his robot hat out a few weeks ago when we were Christmas shopping, and it still cracks me up every time he wears it.  Because it barely snowed at all last winter, this was really his first time truly getting out there and playing in the snow.

Squirrel! | Chicago dog photographer

Meet Ruby.  She takes her jobs very seriously.  They include: 1) taking care of her twin girls,  2) protecting her home from any possible squirrel invasions at all times, and 3) tracking as much mud into the house as possible.

phoning it in|iPhone mash-up

Sometimes the best camera is the one that you have with you.  Well, I always have my iPhone attached to my hip.  Here are just a few random scenes from the fall…including a few shots from my fabulous trip to Maui, the view on my way to work, the view from my window at work, and my sleeping baby (a rare sighting)!
