Pop Pop (my dad) just nails it every time he finds these little toys at the store for the boys. Charlie was obsessed with this $1 airplane for an entire weekend and then some. He’s also going retro here and wearing his father’s vintage 1982 Mackinac Island t-shirt! He loves knowing that it was his daddy’s shirt when he was a little boy.

Oh Jess, I’m sorry for your talented friend Sarah’s loss. I’m moved every month by One but this month more than ever. I cried as I traveled around the circle and realized how powerful these connections can be; I felt that you actually held hands in a circle and passed your strength, love and support as it passed through each of you; each unto the next until it reached Sarah and comforted her. So powerful and beautiful-thank you for the reminder of how precious life is and the power we really do have to help to make a difference.

Really beautiful image Jess and I know we all search for the right words at a time like this. Your mom said more than I possibly could have come up with, such very true words. Hugs to Sarah- it is clear during this unimaginable time, she is loved by so many.
I thought I’d enter this shot into the “summer fun” photo challenge over at I Heart Faces. The boys have been loving being part-time superheroes so far this summer…and Super Nate just doesn’t ever want to take off his cape.

This is super cute. Made me giggle!
When Nancy and I first chatted about her family shoot, she was imagining springtime with flowering trees – pink flowering trees in particular. Then spring came in like a lion and maintained it’s lion-ness (yes that’s a new word, I just invented it, you’re welcome!)…and well…it just kept raining. It was also unseasonably freezing for so much of the spring. Pretty much just awful. This made Nancy and I a little nervous, but at the same time, I was hoping all of that rain would pay off with some blooms for her. And it definitely did! We had to brave the cold, but the weekend we did this shoot, everything was in bloom. And it just so happened that one of the trees had pink blossoms 🙂 We hit it at just the perfect time, these blooms were only around for a week or two at most.
Because sometimes even Super Nate needs a break.

Love these capes Jessica!’ Sweet sweet series.
I did a session with this set of twin girls just before their 7th birthday. I am always so fascinated by twins and how different they can be (identical or not) – it’s just so interesting how they can be so different but yet so on the same wavelength at the same time. Although not identical twins, both of the girls had great freckles, I just love freckles 🙂
