I only offer what I love to my clients, and I try to keep my list of offerings simple. I love large prints and canvases and nothing makes me happier than seeing my work printed big and up on the wall in my clients’ homes. But I was missing a good album option, and hunted around for a quite a while researching all sorts of books available to professional photographers. As you might imagine, the choices are many and are overwhelming. So I gave up. But when I saw these panoramic books, I just loved them and knew I wanted to add these to the lineup. They are simple, clean, modern, elegant, very well made – and my favorite shape – square!
These albums are 8.5″ square are bound in linen (your choice of 11 fabulous colors), or leather (your choice of 3 colors). A photo from your session (as well as custom text) can be added to the album cover. Instead of traditional albums that have images printed onto photographic paper and mounted onto pages, these images are press printed directly onto extra thick archival paper. Another great feature is that there is no gutter and the pages lay completely flat, so entire images can span across two pages without losing any parts of the image.
Albums can be a great way to preserve and display many of your favorite images from your session. Sometimes you don’t want to have a bunch of images of yourself up on the wall, or you might have limited wall space. These books are a great to have on your coffee table or on the shelf, and my hope is that they will become family heirlooms. My kids love looking at their pictures in these albums from when they were “little”. I am very excited to offer these albums to clients!
This year we caught a little break because it was unseasonably warm last weekend. We love going to the Brookfield Zoo (and it’s so close to our house that it’s a great diversion for the kids), but we usually skip Holiday Magic because we don’t want to drag our kids out in the polar vortex and freeze our you-know-whats off.
It was 52 degrees, so we piled into the car to go, and so did everyone else in Chicago apparently, I’ve never seen the zoo so crowded before. I am not sure how many lights there are, or how many Christmas trees, but it’s a lot and I could only wonder what the electric bill would be!
And last but not least, the boys talking to the “Talking Tree” who will talk to you when you ask it questions. The boys got a little freaked out and clammed up when it asked them stuff about what they saw at their zoo visit, but it was fun!
Well folks, they don’t make families much cuter than this one. These little blondies were just the best, and later on I found out the little guy was under the weather that day. Considering that, and that he’s a toddler, he did so amazingly well! Love my job!
This month, my one shot is from the circus. We took the boys to Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus just last week, and it brought back a lot of fond memories. For as long as I can remember, this circus has been in Chicago for a few weeks in November. When we were kids, my grandfather would take us every year. A lot of the acts were almost exactly as they were when I was little, and it was so fun to watch my boys taking it all in.
They didn’t allow professional cameras, so I had to do my best from the 200 level of the United Center with my little point-and-shoot camera, which, as my luck would have it, ran out of batteries about 15 minutes into the show. So no lion tamer or trapeze artist pictures, unfortunately. But I was rathar impressed with these ladies, who were riding their bikes in perfect synchrony and also standing on each others shoulders and crazy impossible stuff like that while riding around in tight circles.
Please click here to follow me around our circle to see what the lovely and talented Krista has been up to in November. Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
I’m finally getting around to sifting through my personal photos from last summer. Since I was super pregnant I don’t have the usual amount, it pretty much zapped any creative energy I had, but I tried to document some of our summer fun. In August, we headed way north again to the top of the Michigan mitten to stay at the “log cabins”. They boys call them log cabins, but they aren’t log cabins at all. Cabins, yes. Log cabins, not so much 🙂
Anyway, this year it was a lot cooler out and we unfortunately didn’t have as much warmth and sunshine. It was just enough for Charlie to figure out how to kayak on his own at age five though which was really fun to watch. And at night we had bonfires and tried to keep warm. Good times with family and friends as usual. These are some random shots from our trip:
Just posting some shots of my little bundle of joy at one month old. She’s soooo much older now…6 weeks. Ha! It’s such a fun and fleeting time when you can count their age in days and weeks. As you can see we are having no fun at all with this baby girl!
