I’ve been photographing this cutie since she was 2. We always try to mix it up for her sessions and this year I was thrilled when her mom agreed to come to the beach. I absolutely love shooting kids at the beach. I can’t even pick a few favorites here so I am about to overload you with some images below…I love that her uncles (who are very special to her) came along and got into a few shots too. This is Montrose Beach in Chicago, and was crowded as all heck when we were there, but even so there are so many fun little nooks to explore that are a little less populated.
As you can see, little A had a blast and she got all the way into the lake – a little faster than we expected! It was so much fun, she was having so much fun and I love photographing kids being kids. Just pure joy, no forced expressions here! FYI – I shoot beach sessions in Chicago and in Southwestern Michigan. Come to the beach, you’ll be glad you did!
If you’re in Chicago, you might want to check out the Happy Place, it’s been extended until September 4th! It’s a series of crazy fun super colorful rooms and taking photos is not only okay but highly encouraged. I went with my three kids, and friend and fellow photographer mama Kristin and her two adorable kiddos. Perhaps 11:30 am wasn’t the best start time for us (hangry kid alert…) but the kids would have probably been super distracted no matter what. It’s nonstop bright super saturated colors and music inside. Here are just a few of the rooms. Thanks to Kristin for grabbing my camera and getting me in the frame in a few!

Looks awesome!!!!
I always love doing in-home sessions with little ones, they’re my favorite! It always brings me right back to bringing a new baby home when the older sibling is still in a crib and diapers themselves. Lots of changes, everyone (family dog included) is pretty wiped out, but everything is just as it’s meant to be.
This sweet little babe was brand new in these pictures, and soon she’ll be a year old! It’s always fun for me to document these early moments for my friends. The green blankie in some of the images is an heirloom and has been used by her two older sibs as well, so we had to work that in to some shots! Along with those little toes…I’m obsessed with baby toes. <3
I love this family! I’ve gotten to photograph them as their adorable little family grows! Looking forward to our next session in the Fall of ’18. This was our first time photographing the newest addition to the family, this sweet pumpkin of a baby brother! P was SUCH a great big bro and was so awesome during our shoot!
