the “log cabins”

I’m finally getting around to sifting through my personal photos from last summer. Since I was super pregnant I don’t have the usual amount, it pretty much zapped any creative energy I had, but I tried to document some of our summer fun. In August, we headed way north again to the top of the Michigan mitten to stay at the “log cabins”. They boys call them log cabins, but they aren’t log cabins at all. Cabins, yes. Log cabins, not so much 🙂

Anyway, this year it was a lot cooler out and we unfortunately didn’t have as much warmth and sunshine. It was just enough for Charlie to figure out how to kayak on his own at age five though which was really fun to watch. And at night we had bonfires and tried to keep warm. Good times with family and friends as usual. These are some random shots from our trip:
