peace 2 sandy hook project
You know what they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words”? Well, in this case, I think that’s very true. I am so happy that I got to be a part of this project with many other very talented photographers from the Bloom Forum. It’s safe to say most of us, especially parents, felt bewildered and helpless after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. There just really aren’t any words for it.
Soon after, the Bloom admins came up with a great idea of how we as photographers (and many of us, moms), could make some sort of contribution, in the best way we know how. You can read about the project on Bloom’s blog here. Signs of peace and hope. It just so happened that I had an image that fit the bill perfectly – an image I took while visiting my dear friend Penny and her family. I was teaching her oldest son how to make a peace sign and snapped a picture. He is in the middle left, sitting in a chair and humoring me by making a peace sign.
Here is the collage that was made from images that were submitted for this project. Just thought I’d spread the love…you can find information on the Newtown Memorial Fund by clicking here.
