Party of 5 | Chicago family photographer

I just love doing shoots with my friend Denise and her ridiculously photogenic family.  These guys are the best.  They hop out of their car looking like they’ve jumped out of the J. Crew catalog, and are up for anything.  How about going outside in 40 degree weather?  Sure!  How about heading to some forest preserves with a chapel that has really interesting doors?  Okay, sure, we trust you!  How about laying down up on top of that hill?  Okay!

I am in love with so many images from this shoot and wanted to blog some a while ago, but had to keep them under wraps since they were being used for Christmas cards and we have so many mutual friends.

It was SO cold out that day, we were running from spot to spot throwing jackets on the kids in between locations…but they had a blast and it all worked out great.  Photographing a family of 5 can be like herding cats, especially with a willful 1 1/2 year old, but it was all good.  Of course, I love a toddler who won’t listen.  I get such a kick out of them.  So this first picture was one of my favorites because the little miss was refusing to lay down on the hill with the rest of her family.

  • Julia - No question, this is my favorite family session of yours to date! The shot that they used for their Christmas card really could have come straight out of a JCrew catalog! Beautiful family and beautiful images, Jess! 🙂ReplyCancel
