Mr. Personality | Chicago children’s photographer
Meet Jackson. He’s my nephew. Well, technically not really my nephew but my first cousin once removed or my second cousin, or something like that. I can never figure that relationship out. At any rate, he’s my cousin’s adorable kiddo and as far as our family is concerned they’re all nephews 🙂 Thus far in this generation of our family – it’s all boys too! So I was really excited when I was asked to do a session of him. Just him. So much fun!
For many photographers, toddlers are their worst nightmare. They pay no attention to you, do their own thing, goof off most of the time, throw random fits, you get the idea…But not for me. If I could shoot toddlers only (and maybe dogs too, same challenges basically!) I’d be a happy, happy girl. They just crack me up with their “independence” and attitudes, going from one emotion to the next every 20 seconds. I love that they have the attention span of a fruit fly. I love that they are half baby and half kid. It’s such a fleeting time, and I love to capture it.
So here, Jackson is informing me there is a doggie over there:
And running!
I always find that boys are blessed with the most amazing eyes and eyelashes…case in point:
And this is one of my favorites from the day, this pouting was hilarious (well not to him, but to me):
Oh, and I may or may not have told him that Cookie Monster and Elmo lived in this cottage. Poor guy was perplexed that they weren’t answering the door and he couldn’t find a way in!
Julia - He is so cute and in that first shot, I totally see Charlie. That Flickinger gene is a strong one! 😉 Great work Jess!
Kim Lane - Jessica, I adore these. I know his parents must be thrilled beyond THRILLED. So beautiful.
