34/52

Big brother.  Still catching up on my 52-week project over here!  When I was in Seattle visiting Penny, John, and the new baby, I was trying hard to pay special attention to (new) older brother Theo.  It’s a tough spot to be in.  One minute you’re the only child, the next minute a little guy comes along and steals a bit of your thunder.  It goes without saying that I just love little boys…so we spent some time playing Legos, reading, doing puzzles, and talking about Star Wars guys.  Oh, and my favorite, catching up on our gossip mags.  This is a boy after my own heart.

I plan to include some of these in his wedding slideshow, or for sure his prom date will be interested to see them and I will be happy to oblige:

At one point during my visit, the kid just passed out cold.  The cute thing was that he was snuggled up with “Dougie Dog” – his favorite lovey (which was a baby shower gift from me to his Mama long ago)!

Theo wasn’t thrilled about taking pics with his baby brother at first.  He also was not super psyched about this outfit that I picked out for him…I decided to have him jump on mom and dad’s bed for a while first.  That seemed to work and soon he forgot all about his boring blue t-shirt.

Here he is with his buddy Dougie:

And he is really very sweet with his little bro, and fascinated with him in the cutest way.  Always reporting to everyone what the baby is doing or trying to say.

After dealing with me following him around and snapping pictures for several days, he got into it.  This was very cute, he was shooting me shooting him:

And finally, here is a shot that Theo took with my camera.  As a reward for holding still for ~25 seconds and not making too many crazy faces so that I could get some images of the entire family together, I told Theo that I’d let him use my camera.  I forgot about it, he didn’t 🙂  Remember?  Remember what you said?  I can use your camera now?  He discovered the rapid-fire setting on my camera quickly and shot about 85 frames of this scene in about 1 minute.  After some adjustments, not too bad considering he was just under 5 years old!

I know these little guys will grow to be best of friends.  It was fun to be there for a few days in the very beginning of their relationship!

  • Stacey - Could this series, or this child, possibly be cuter? The bed jumping technique is pure genius.ReplyCancel
